Ume Restaurant in Windsor

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Sonoma County! Usually go for lunch on a weekday, and have always had excellent service. The food comes out at a good pace, so we've never had to worry about getting back to work on time.

I will drive out of my way to come here. Best sushi in the county.

Lady In Red Roll is one of my faves. I also dig the Hamachi Nigiri. Yum.

Fun place to go for birthday dinners, is a bit pricey for some things but otherwise not bad.

This place is amazing. The Giants Roll is the best. I am not even a fan of the Giants but the roll is really good. The tempura roll is good, warm, didn't expect warm, but good flavor. Apparently it is ok to break glasses here. The staff is accepting of it. If you are celebrating come here and break as many glasses as you want.

The place serves large dishes and for convenient pricing. nice staff. 5 stars from me.

Good contemporary Japanese food. Service is prompt and not overly intrusive. Great selection of sake that I've found for sonoma county.

Best sushi in North bay.

Probably thinking why I'm uploading a 5 star review with a picture of one of their salads that has mold on it? The reason why is because I eat here quiet often and the food is really good and fresh most of the time but I want them to check their produce because something must have started growing recently.

Ume Japanese Bistro in Windsor has excellent food prepared and served very professionally. I had the salmon fillet dinner and a rainbow roll and both were excellent. So why only 3 stars? The mens bathroom in this place is disgusting. Not only was it filthy with sticky floors and worse, but the odor of the space made me glad my visit was after my meal. Guys, do yourselves a big favor and clean up the mess.

I took my daughter here for her 16th birthday since she loves sushi.The staff was wonderful, pleasant & attentive. The food was delicious we all loved our dishes. She had a sushi, sashimi combo plate. I had a tempura combo & my cousin had a salmon. All amazing and delicious.

This is an awesome place to eat if you like Japanese food you can get it to go or you can eat in a small lovely little restaurant with lovely waitresses

Last week was our first time we came to that magnificent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the excellent service, with the magnificent meal and booze and with the comfortable pay. We will surely come back soon.

Got here kind of late in the evening for a Wednesday night. The waitresses were completely wonderful. The food was terrific. I had the caterpillar sushi roll. Great ambiance. It was exactly what I needed for my date night.

Great menu and staff. A bit pricey though

This place seems to produce good quality Japanese food. We had the tofu steak which tasted grea but should have had the middle cooked more well done. The salmon poke bowl was tasty but did not contain as much of the ingredients the menu indicated. All in all I would eat there again.

Great place. I will give it 5 stars for overall experience, but I think it's over priced. The waitress was great, and every now and then a waitress named Alejandra would help our table. She is a beautiful woman with a beautiful story. She is a perfect example of what makes California so unique. Definitely visit this place, and i will definitely come back. Our rolls were very tasty!

Good sushi and service. I’ve been here maybe five times. A few times with my boyfriend. He enjoyed the food too. Last time on a birthday work lunch for a co-worker. Everyone was happy. Nice find for a Japanese restaurant along Old Redwood Hwy if you are in Windsor area 😊 Still Toyo is my all-time fav!

The atmosphere was nice and the staff attentive. The food was just so so. Unfortunately I ended up in the bathroom in the middle of the night disgorging what I had eaten. The risk you take with sushi.

Love the food, love the decor, great service

Food is quite good and staff are nice, but it drives me up the wall when restaurants label imitation crab as the real thing. Ume has “snow crab” all over the menu and nowhere is it explained that the “snow crab” is in fact the cheap, imitation, fish-based “crab” meat that you find in Subway sandwiches. Pretty shameful for a sushi restaurant to play this game.

The is a great little place with good customer service and a warm feeling when you first walk in the door. The fish was fresh good and they had some unique rolls that we enjoyed. Pepper fin tuna is always my favorite and they served an amazing dish.

The food was creative, delicious and we'll presented. The staff was friendly, helpful and on top of things.

Cute little place with unexpectedly delicious food. Everything we ordered was great, and the service was outstanding. The only challenge we experienced was arriving at the tail end of Restaurant Week - they had been so busy, they were sold out of several favorites. Not really a problem, as it pushed us to try new things! Insider tip: order the "chef's choice" chirashi bowl... you won't be disappointed!

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Ok food. Nice atmosphere. Too busy and crowed so service ended up being poor.
